Oh good grief! I just read up on how the toad eggs and taddies can hurt my fish if they eat them. I've been trying to feed them fish food but they haven't really been coming to the surface to get it. So they may be hungry enough to sample them and get sick from the toxins they excrete.
I'm going to net out the toad eggs and move them to one of the nearby ponds.
I've had tons of toad eggs and toadpoles in my pondsai over the years, they never hurt the fish. Did catch a young blacksnake with one in it's mouth before I grabbed it.

Try fish pellets.

Try fish pellets.
Same thing. They don't bother to come up for them. I've seen them eat the flakes that sink to the bottom so they probably do the same with the pellets. It's going to take them some more time to acclimate to being in a pond versus a big glass fish bowl.

I just got off the phone with the doctor that's been taking care of DH. They've got him off the Haldol and onto the antipsychotic he was prescribed a week ago. He's doing very well on it. He's stabilized.

The social worker assigned to his case is going to contact Vestal Park nursing home where I wanted him to go for the next stage. They didn't outright reject him when they found out what was going on but wanted him stabilized. Now that he's been stable for 48 hours hopefully they will come in and do their own evaluation and he will move directly from the hospital to Vestal Park.

I asked about what exactly is the infection that they are treating him for because he's still on IV antibiotics. He has a staph infection in his bladder and he will come off those IV antibiotics on Sunday. Hopefully he'll be transferred to a room at Vestal Park Sunday or Monday.

My mom is at my sister's house and things are very very tough on sis. They could not get a catheter in mom because she has so much abdominal edema. So she's going to have to go to Mercy House without the catheter. That makes things harder for everybody.

I just sat down to dinner. And it's a real dinner. I made a garden salad and put scrambled egg whites on it for protein. They were left over from making my mom a batch of butterscotch pudding from scratch. That's her favorite and I've never made pudding from scratch before.
I dropped that off and brought Skittles so she could see him. Went home to change and feed the dogs then went to the hospital to feed DH his dinner. He passed out after dinner so I left and picked up some groceries, went home, covered all my tender plants for tonight's frost then started to cook. I made a frittata, a beef Crock-Pot soup recipe and the salad.
I've set aside 4 eggs from today's haul for Astrid. I'll take 4 from tomorrow's too. They are on the counter in a pink 🩷 carton to make them all girls. I think she'll be ready by Saturday.
I was short 2 on head count tonight. Tink was in a nest box. No surprise there. McKenzie was in another one. BIG surprise there. I'm now juggling 4 broodies. Sour, if this was your idea for a distraction you went a bit far with it.
