Yes. Mine were from the farm in a barn and they don't go outside, but they have a ton of room. Think they do it to prevent any birds getting injured and lose profit on it because it's feathers have been plucked.
 
Out of a summer hatch, I thought I had 3 out of 5 that were pullets. Turns out I've got 4 out of 5 that are cockerels. :rantBad odds on that one! We decided these will be our first to be butchered. All DP crosses, so might let them grow a bit more. When do those of you that butcher, butcher your DP's?
I'm doing mine at 16 weeks that's when @igorsMistress suggested to start looking at my chickens to see if they're big enough yet.
