I have to butcher them when they start crowing well!Out of a summer hatch, I thought I had 3 out of 5 that were pullets. Turns out I've got 4 out of 5 that are cockerels.Bad odds on that one! We decided these will be our first to be butchered. All DP crosses, so might let them grow a bit more. When do those of you that butcher, butcher your DP's?
The younger they are the more tender they will be.
You could weigh them once a week and wait until the growth curve is not as steep. There is a point where they will not add much more meat compared to feed cost
