BYC Café

Basil is an annual so would not likely overwinter well if at all. Thyme is a perennial as well as sage so they will overwinter. Basil you have to start each year
Good to know. The sage plant struggles along every winter but somehow manages to come back. I remembered to give it a pile of straw this fall so hopefully it will have an easier time of it.

What do you sew Susan?
Yes, I have been sewing since I was 8 years old. I took over my dad's business three years ago and am trying to grow the business. Its hard to work on the business if we are still doing all the manufacturing ourselves. We manufacture sport fishing equipment. I'd love to find some good seamstresses that work from home so I could support their own home grown businesses. We also work from our house...the garage has the welding, grinding and gluing. Game room is a big sewing room.

Some are called short lived perennials and will make about three years. It is important to look that up when buying plants. I have not been good at it lately, but my strategy is to have perennials at the back of a flower bed and then annuals in the front. It the Fall, flowers are switched with Fall annuals-- Flowering cabbage and such.

I brewed a small pot... in case any of the old crowd or new folks wander into this abandoned Cafe. Depressing.
There is some traffic. Last week the Cafe was close for cleaning for a couple of days So All is nice and shiny here now!
