Even the human broken leg that's immobilized in a cast is not allowed movement & has to use crutches & do only the barest mobility to keep from disturbing the healing bone... lucky it wasn't the hip! I was w/her for 3 months.I thought it was splinted.
So sorry to hear that Marie.Oliver hasn't come back for weeks.
He must have died.
I searched everywhere for him.
I'm absolutely broken to have lost him. He was so sweet to Tim and my other cat before he died.
Thanks to workmen and a cat that attacked 6 animals, he must have felt he had no chance here.
I was working towards catching him. Plus a rescue lady was on standby to help me.
That vile cat sliced Amori's eye out. But thank goodness he's be rescued and adopted. Thanks to another ladys intervention.
Oliver helped 4 in all. Two kittens Amori and my Timothy.
As for thecat. I have done my best to scare him off from my place. He sprayed Olivers cozy den after i spent hours fixing it up my neighbour fixed the window
That's the last time I saw Oliver . A few day's ago. I trapped thein that den for a couple of hours, sprayed him with my hose pipe after letting him go and Nancy gave him a good barking at.
I've now blocked the door of this second den. So he can't get in again.
He terrorised Tina, but found his match with Princess. Oliver kept him from attacking me. I hope that I am wrong and Oliver turns up again![]()

Ladder was originally to retrieve the eggs, then became both. Now neither, really, because at the moment none has laid in the trees in weeks. Iirc, it started with the rain. Soggy mess. I ended up putting nesting material in there when the rains stopped and some returned, but it’s been abandoned in favor of the freezer box as of late.Is the ladder for the chickens to roost in the tree? or for you to climb to retrieve their nest eggs?
I've had a Silkie that scratched so hard in the nestbox before laying her egg she tore off two toes plus a couple toenails on other toes... blood everywhere. The vet gave medicine & said it would be ok for a chicken to lose the outer toes... better than losing the inside toes/nails.
Mini missing outer toes on both feet

I'll look into that. I have Terramycin still. Is that what you mean?Fowl pox starts like that here & we isolate the bird from the flock... we have ophthalmic antibiotic ointment from the vet to immediately start dabbing the white spots as they pop up on face, comb or wattles. Not saying that's what Diane has but if you have a safe eye antibiotic it may help whatever she has?
I thought it was splinted.
Do I need to keep her isolated for that long?
That’s bad (very sad news) so sorry. Maybe Oliver is just out on an exploration?Oliver hasn't come back for weeks.
