BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
It's 3F this morning. We are in for over week of nights in the low teens and below. More snow is coming. Why are we getting all of Margie's weather? Why?
Don't fret, we are getting our share too: We are in for at least two more weeks of heavy snowfalls, strong winds/storms and temperatures as low as -22°C. 🥶

Morning! Thanks for the hot coffee and the heartwarming story, DL!
Another beautiful day on tap here! But..., then things change a bit. Snow showers for a week or so, temps near 30. Our coldest is supposed to be near 8F on Saturday night. That is a bit out so we shall see. Breezy, you know the story, "with gusts as high as 32 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected." Our trees are looking peaked!
Meg, I love the "chick" pics. They are looking good!
Have a great day and stay warm you all!

it's unseasonably chilly here too - down to freezing now - days after being unseasonably mild. The chooks don't like it at all; they're huddled round the trunk of a columnar tree whose branches reach down almost to ground level, so their fluffy butts form a circle round its base :gig.

Nose hair freezing, fingertip torturing cold.
Chooks seem OK tho even at 5°F in coop.

Was glad to clear drive yesterday to go out today,
but think I'm gonna stay home and eat and rest for clearing shed roof later.

I have only shoveled snow twice and I didn't even have to do that but I thought maybe I would clear the ice buildup on the path and get ready for the Spring snows. It amounted to three or four inches of ice, but only where the winds had deposited more snow. That is a dismal snow total. I have pics on this thread from previous years where if you stepped off of the path, you would sink and not be seen till the Spring thaw!

Good morning, Cafe. Need lots of coffee today. Currently -5°f (-21°c) and still snowing. Winter has officially arrived and is making up for lost time...

Here's day 3, couldn't help myself  Not sure how to make that a big picture and not thumbnail...

Will probably check again tonight (day5)
Nice for day 3!

As I suspected, Bella and Sully hit it off in a big way.
He kept running around the island making her chase him. She got so excited she was practically chirping. He got so excited he peed all the way around the island! He'll have to wear a belly band for their next play date.
They were both exhausted by the end of their date.

I don't know if any of you remember but the only reason I let this couple see the house when it was under construction was the text they sent stating that if they liked the house it would be their forever house where they would raise their children. THAT is what I wanted for the house.
Then I found out that they were having a really hard time conceiving. They'd been trying for 2 years. She told me they had one more month to try to get pregnant before she had to get back on birth control. She had received one injection to help with fertility. Tonight she told me they're pregnant! She's due in September.:wee
I couldn't be happier for them. The house looks totally different and the new family is there. I had such a wonderful time tonight. Letting go, moving on and we've all become good friends. Even our dogs. Tonight was so therapeutic for me.
That is a very good and bright spot for you Guys!

Currently -5°f (-21°c) and still snowing.
Yikes!
then I won't complain about the 15° with sunny skies we have right now.
Actually I wasn't anyway :gig much nicer than the 5° this morning during chores.
Got the run cleared out ans the pop door open.
Next up is shoveling path the the fence shed so I can clear the roof,
that roof rake might be hell on my shoulder.
