I like most of the changes. My only complaint so far is advertisements mixed in with posts just seems noisy. I understand the need for revenue. Just 3 ads per page is annoying. Before you had ads and I barely noticed them, it was great. Now its annoying. Not that it will stop me from visiting, but takes away from my experience here where I was more focused on our passion and less distracted.

Sorry that the ads are distracting. The number of ads now is pretty much the same as it's been for about a year and a half.

In our research, BYC has about the same number, or even fewer ads than most media sites.

Fortunately we're one of the only sites that offers an option to completely remove ads with a PFM. I wish more sites did that.

Actually, I tend to agree that wow, and maybe all should add positively to the count. I just don't see many situations where our members will actually use the reactions in a "negative" or even "neutral" way. Our members tend to be a pretty supportive bunch.

One way around this problem is to allow more than one emicon to be used.
You could for example have the angry icon with a thumbs up.
One would have to limit the 'likes' to one per person per post but allow the other neutral icons for greater response flexibility.

Lol 80 is ok if they have 100? I hope we aren't modeling after FB. This is my only social media lol. I'm not trying to be difficult. Again I understand the need for revenue. And I do want you guys to do well. Maybe over time I'll adapt and learn to block these ads too. Over all good job (I forgot to say that).

You always have the option of becoming a "Premium Member"..... there aren't any ads. Plus there are other benefits as well, of course. But no ads was a biggie with me using my cell phone.... js

For the record, I use the site with all the same ads as all the members, even though I own the place. LOL!

I want to make sure that I had the same experience as the majority of our visitors.

Ditching ads with a PFM was a nice perk I wasn't aware of until I got one. Very worth it!
