Cookie was clipped when I got her and I clipped her a few times after, I thought I was doing best since my other bird passed away in a flying accident. My vet advised against it and I did some research and will never clip again

And that's exactly what ownership is all about! You're a wonderful owner for her:hugs

I knew I liked you:p. My boy wasn't clipped either. He had a gorgeous tail too, but he sucked at flying to be honest
Some are just bad at flying  might be due to not fledging properly which might include early clipping, or just not having the opportunity to learn to fly properly. Also if they lack flight muscle due to not enough flying, etc...
My first budgie had poor flight skills but he was always a little overweight and I was his at least second home so i dont know if he was clipped previously.
My English budgie has poor flight skills but she's a chunky bird (english often can't fly well) and was one of the clipped ones.

Yup. He was neither (English nor chubby), but still wasn't able to maneuver really well. I'm assuming that all the flying he had over here would strengthen those wing muscles, but not really. Maybe it's from not fledging properly? As far as I know, he'd never been clipped
