Agreed. I know some people get REALLY heated about clipping. I'll never do it to my birds, but if one has reasons for doing it, that aren't rooted in outdated information, then it's ok
 
Don't always think clipped wing feathers will keep them grounded. About 35 years ago I took my macaw outside (feathers on one wing cut) it was a bit breezy and he caught the wind and flew up in a tree. The next flight he made it about 50 yards into a 2' tall hay field where I caught up with him.
Yes this. I honestly have never been able to find it again but I once saw something where someone gathered photos from lost bird ads and the number of clipped birds was kinda shocking.
All it takes is the right gust of wind and/or a burst of adrenaline...
 
Yeah if i had a large bird that could fly, cookie can't, id consider it but not with a smaller bird that would be so easy to loose track of.
Another reason I didn't get the nanday at the rescue, she said he had been used to free flying and would really benefit from it.
