OK, lets play NAME THAT CHICK!
This was a pain to try and figure out how to do it.
It is going to be backwards. The first ones are the questionables, then the lots of ones I THINK I know.
The total of chicks are
welsummers 9
barevelers 1 ( if there are 2 I made a mistake yesterday...)
Cream legbars 6
Silver leghorns 8
I have someone waiting for me to ID legbars, and pet rock wants some wellies so those are the most urgent id's.
Ok, I guess CL boy

( the 12 olive eggers, 11 silkies 2 jubilee orph and 2 MF leghorns I figured out)
She's in shock. Keep her separated, and keep the wound clean. You can give her 1/4 aspirin crushed in 1 cup of water for pain. Give her scrambled eggs to keep her energy up and make sure she drinks.Hi other chicken folks:
Don't really know where to start this but: two days ago one of my hens got attacked by a pit bull; there's a pretty big piece of skin missing from under her wing. I've read over the chicken injuries section, talked to my sis the vet tech, and have been monitoring the hen. She's still with the flock and walks around really slowly, drinks and eats the meal worms given to her, but has less energy today. She looks kind of dejected. Has anyone had experience with a chicken missing a huge patch of skin? What antibiotics to use for infection, and I guess, does anyone know how chickens feel pain? I don't want to lose the hen, but I also don't want her suffering.
Thanks!
Christina

Cheating or not, those are pretty!
I have no clue except they're cute little fuzzy butts! I would think the age difference, like in these two would make it really hard to tell the little buggers apart! So my question is....when you are selling specific chicks and you didn't catch them hatching so you're not sure, like this situation, do you tell the customers that they may not be right breed and offer to exchange them? This is a concern of mine since I have my new incubator coming and putting different breeds in there.....especially ones that are similar looking chicks.OK, lets play NAME THAT CHICK!

Does anyone use the soy free feed from Bar-Ale? I just ordered it and was searching for the posts regarding it but can't find them
Thanks Ron and Deb for this idea (and also Ali for the blukote idea); I will try the feed store today and look for the gel Vetericyn; Its also good to hear some survival stories!
On a happier note - why raise ducks? Is it because they are friendly? Do the eggs taste better?
Quote: Thank You!
I keep checking the nest box for Olive colored eggs too. The Marans OEs are getting close--They are between 5 and 6 months old.
