The Bounce video is ALWAYS up on my page. But I keep the sound shut off on my laptop unless I'm actually watching a video that needs sound. So it's not just you Debi..........hey, wait a minute.........................maybe it has to do with our names.................

I keep a pair of reading glasses sitting with my incubators for all egg checks, LOL

Mother's Day..............that's the old timers mantra for tomatoes here too.

Gorgeous, I'm sure that vine appreciated being close to the chickens for the, ummmmmmmm................. you get it......
Darn it! I haven't bought a pair of "reading" glasses yet! I just started having to hold my arms out a little!

How exciting!!!! I must check mine 5 or 6 times a day and it is still 5 days until lockdown.
Whew! It was kind of exciting. I checked them for the obvious things like temperature changes, humidity changes, the turner working, and just to look at them. I did get a video of the last part of the first ever egg I have hatched last night, but only on my iPhone. I am not exactly sure how to upload that. It was the biggest egg in there and he was rather quick about the zipping part and then throwing off that shell.I didn't get the whole zip on one video though. I hate long videos on the iPhone.....

It hatched at about 10:15 last night and I had about 8 total this morning. The peeping all night was ridiculous though. I am very tired today (because my most stable room is my bedroom).

Quail ARE instant gratification really. 17 days? I just want my chicken eggs! lol

Ali - I found this thread where someone had brown liquid on their egg. I hope its a non-issue!

Thanks threadgeek, it did help. The very last post on that thread made sense to me. It appears that it was a drop of condensation and it dropped right on a dark spot and dried sort of waxy looking. So that sounds exactly like what it was. Although I don't think it was that moist in the incubator.......

Those little quail don't dry very fast either in there. I need to go get them out soon and get them in the brooder, but some are still really wet. The guy from last night though is starting to fluff up, and he is going to be hungry and thirsty sooner than the others. They are pecking around eating the specs of shells that popped off.

Kind of stinks being at work with all that I still need to do at home. Yes, I am at work on BYC! Shhhhhh

I keep thinking about those new little chicks at home too.

Congrats on the hatch!

To post video, you first have to put the video onto Your Tube or Vimeo and then click on the insert movie tool and paste the code from the site into the field.

Well there are so many of us that if they just targeted the Debbie/Debbi/Debi/Deb's, they would hit a high number of consumers!

What does everybody use to clean your incubators after a hatch? I used a bleach spray and scrubbed it and then rinsed it is that okay?
That should be fine. They do sell incubator sterilizer sprays.

Make sure it is a weak bleach solution though, not straight bleach.

Alright guys, the incubator is plugged in and I visited Just Struttin' Farm today and picked up two dozen of Deann's laying flock's fertile eggs (I just have to say, Deann is so lovely and so are all her birds... but her English Orpingtons!! I die.

They were bigger than my son! So beautiful. Thank you so much Deann! It was so nice of you to have us out.) and some 10 day old fertile store bought eggs just on the off chance one or two might hatch. Anyhow, I am doing a lot of reading and trying to go back over the thread and pick out things you all have already answered, but, inevitably, I'll probably be bothering you all with questions shortly. I promise to repay you with fluffy baby pictures in about 22 days (setting tomorrow.)

Well it's a kitchen/ bathroom cleaner spray from the dollar store lol so guess well see if any hatch. Went into lockdown this afternoon and when I lifted the turner out there was a zillion ants in the bottom!!! This is the hatch that has been only 96 degrees this whole time so just going for it...:/
