California - Northern

I took my Australorps and Black Penes outside yesterday!

The little one in the middle is a two week old Black Pene. The Australorps are three weeks old.

What a Ham this one is!

A week makes a big difference in Size!

I have a video encoding and will post it when it is ready!(kidding here--The Australorps are big old Show Quality birds. The Black Pene on the right will get big for a Pene but will not be like an Australorp).

AWWWWEE! Love the expression on the second pic!

Is this the giraffe Australorp?

Loving everyone's coop pics and baby chick pix!

I can't believe how fast ours are growing! We made them a chicken playpen and got them a larger feeder and waterer so they aren't so crowded and we don't have to fill them 2-3 times a day anymore. We have found a home for one of our 2 roosters, when he grows up.

Our friends lost their rooster, The Fonz. He died valiantly protecting his girls from a fox and somehow managed to escape the coop and go after it. Glad I took photos of him when I did.

R.I.P. Fozny.

Well that's a bummer. I loved his name! Not often you remember one particular rooster of someone else's, but The Fonz?!?!? Who can't remember that? Well, maybe anyone younger than 30.....

5 Pita Pinta's out! And 10 Basque's out! Woohoo! I see at least 4 more zipping. There are so many chicks in that incubator right now. I keep talking to them to get off the eggs that are trying to hatch.. it's not really working though. Ha! I can't wait to get them out there and give them some love!
wait! You get chicks to listen??!
You are hired!

And rip x2 big Fonzie.

The cable company is supposed to be here today to change us to cable and internet. He showed up 2 hrs after I was expecting him a asked if he could come back in 2 hrs. He is now 1/2 hr after that. I'm guessing its not gonna happen today...

Help me understand? My bantam BLRW are blue/blue. So they are BBS...well...I got the mix chick. Now I have a pink skinned black chick. (this is really weird y'all) So are the blacks kicked off from the BBS BLRW - ALL black or black with lacing? I am clueless.
