Through the cold spell my CCL rooster got frostbite any remedies?

I thought I drilled enough holes for ventilation? Maybe not...

We used Vaseline in the old days, but apparently that is no longer recommended.

One reason roosters combs are more likely to be frostbitten isn't just their size; it is that biddies will sleep with their heads under their wings, and roosters don't.

Oh well I have been thinking of finding some high quality buffs to add to my Lemon Cuckoo project. I had one and she dies on me in the heat last summer. I have some nice size beauties, but want a few more gene pools in there. I am now getting my barred hens. I need to take some pics. I have a stunning lemon Cockerel right now. He is almost completely white with the light orange strips, will be interesting to see how he turns out, and his body is akin to english.

he should recover. I gave mine Vetrex on the comb and wattles a few days.

I have a lot of ventilation at roof level and my roosters still got some frostbite.

Gorgeous birds, Walt! Those tall ones really look like dinosaurs, especially the photo of the on with the rat!

On another note, it looks like our rescue chicken, the brown leghorn, has recovered enough to start paying rent. Now all our laying girls gave a showing today (and we have breakfast!):
