I have Partridge Penedesencas, Olive egg laying chickens and Pita Pintas coming up for hatching.

I have a mix of other breeds though.

Received my new motor for my egg turner today but it's not going to work.

So it's hand turning for me. My new plan is to set them in egg cartons cut in half to make it easy to turn everything. I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

I starting collecting only planning to hatch a few from one hen but found myself saying, "this egg would be fun, and maybe that one. That would be an interesting mix there." Now I have about 30 eggs. LOL

I hope the NYD Hatch a long thread felt like this one. I worked on it and all of the feedback was positive.

it was massively huge though--350 to 500 posts a day during the hatch part.

I am sure it was with you running it, You set a wonderful helpful and positive tone for this thread too...the great egg shipping experiment and the Cinco de Mayo hatch a longs were fabulous fun as well. I think hatch a longs are positive in general because of the content. Who doesn't want to wish people well on hatching chicks and there really are a variety of methods that work...though some people are more successful at it then others there are so many variables that I don't think anyone can say there is only one proven way...other than perhaps use a Brinsea and local eggs. Plus when hatches go badly we all feel so sad for the person and the chicks it would truely be an ogre who made a negative comment

Ha! You are well on your way to becoming a hatchaholic. Did you have any luck finding out if anyone in your area was buying from Privett?

I am finally starting to feel a little better. Spent the most of the last 7 days in bed ( not by choice, I just was too sick to get up). What a nasty flu!

I checked about 1/2 the eggs in the bator and only tossed one. So that's good news If anyone in the Redding area wants to hatch some Barnevelders and blue Barnevelders let me know ASAP. I have over 22 nice eggs from the last 3 days and I am still too tired to set up auctions or ship eggs.

I am also happy to report that Norma has returned and she laid an egg so all is well here. Harriet laid another one in her kennel. Both are running around outside right now with their buddies but I will bring Harriet in tonight again to treat her foot and keep her off the roost.
