They are too cute!!

I may be showing my generation here, but the Pita Pinta chicks really remind me of Chocobos...

OMG! Chocobos! You are so right!

OMG Make it stop!

Two of my DDs would play FF and the song would get caught in my head!

A little update...the chicks started hatching last night and wouldn't let me sleep lol, they are in my room and kept peeping and peeping and peeping...loudly. But that's okay. :)
I have 9 hatched, just put them all in the brooder. A few more EE eggs have pips, I think two of the five don't but hopefully they'll still hatch!
Not a single Trader Joe's egg has hatched or even pipped.

At first when I saw two yellow chicks, I got really excited and thought it was the Trader Joe's eggs. Turns out, it wasn't. Every single TJ egg is still there, and after I took the chicks out I checked each one over and there's no pips on any of them.
So, here's what Jeff has to say about his EE pen, "Due to last minute need for a breeding pen, I decided to merge my BBS ameraucana and Easter Egger flocks to just focus on cool colored blue to green egg layers from this pen. There is a high probability you will get pure BBS ameraucanas but not guaranteed. So, these will be sold as easter eggers."
I have 9 hatched - two very light blues, two yellows, and the rest are medium/dark blue. Are the two yellows for sure EE's? I thought they were TJ's at first but since none have hatched, they're not.

EEs often hatch early. TJs would hatch later because of their age. Each day adds an hour to hatch time.

What day of incubation are you on?

EEs will often be white and many will have a chipmunk pattern. Those are usually pullets.

Thanks! Today is day 21, so it's hatch day. The first pip was yesterday and the first hatch was around midnight. The TJ's eggs were 8 days old at setting, so they should still hatch today. Is it safe to say that if they haven't hatched by the afternoon of the 5th(over 48 hours after the 21 day mark), they aren't going to hatch?

If you do not see pips by tomorrow then you can check them. I would not call it quits until day 24 though.

You should have some hatch!
