my chickens will not come out of their coop, when i opened the coop door this morning, they ran out like usual, but this time they just stopped and looked around, complained, and went back in

Had 5" this morning and got another 1" or so throughout this morning. Mine free range our entire yard. So 2 were in the barn this morning and 2 in their coop. 1 laid her egg and went to the barn. The other was still there until a minute ago when I gave them some scratch. She decided she wanted to go to the barn too. But she left me an egg before she moved to the barn. They are not happy they can't scratch around!!!

I have no chickens, but I have 8 eggs that'll hatch in 4 days. I also have 2 parakeets.

Hi ms.cluckling. I'm waving from afar since I'm in the high desert. I have nine hens but I also have parakeets, canaries and finches and even two coturnix quail. What fun when your eggs hatch.

It's been cold and windy here in southern CA, and I don't like it, but my chickies seem to be o.k. with it! Ms. cluckling, what kind of eggs are you hatching?
