California West Sac Postal Service

My final update for this West Sac PO thread! My text tracking showed that chicks arrived "SACRAMENTO CA DISTRIBUTION CENTER" 2:14 AM, Arrived at "WEST SACRAMENTO CA 95691" at 5:28 am. So as I was getting ready at 8:45 am to head to post office on Merkley when they opened at 9, I got another tracking update that said it was "Out for Delivery" and would arrive by 8pm. Freaked out for a second thinking they put it on a mail truck route but when I called Merkley PO straight up at 9 they confirmed that the chicks were there and ready for pickup. I do believe that they were going to call me within a few minutes if I hadn't called them first because there was a short line when I got there but as soon as I got off the phone I headed over and picked them up at the window. Overall not quite as smooth as last year but still smooth. Was able to pick them up a day earlier this time, but still confused why tracking would say "Out for Delivery" for a package that is supposed to be picked up. So all in all, I think with staying on top of tracking and just calling the post office before they're scheduled to arrive, I hope you will have a positive experience. By the way the Merkley office # is (916) 556-3406, so you don't have to search for it online and can bypass the USPS main 800- line.
Over and out! :fl

Awe! Not to be bossy or nosy but can I see a pic of your chicks, did you have a PO box.

That's not nosy or bossy, that's what this site is for, haha!! My pics are terrible because my phone front cam is busted and i can only use the awkward "selfie" front cam. Plus I have a toddler that I have to protect chicks from, so it's hard to take them to begin with. The box is what they came in, hubby threw it away but 17 chicks total were packed in with nesting material and 2 heat pads. None DOA, all seem healthy so far.
