hi I have one call duck in the incubator, along with two swedish eggs, one which is pipping internally and the other is about to as well. The hatch date was supposed to be on the 18th, but I think my temperature has been a little low. I candled the call duck egg last night and saw movement, but when I candled it this morning I didn't see anything, so I carefully opened the big end with the air sac. I saw movement again but also saw the egg yolk and am wondering if he/she is malpositioned. I also saw big veins when I opened the big end, so I don't think he/she is quite ready to come out, unless he/she should be starting to internally pip. Can you see if the head is on this side? How should I help him/her?

Thank you so much for your time!

I haven't seen any bruising. I've candled the other side and see a little open spot, but I don't think it's an air hole. When the yolk and veins start to absorb, should I make a breathing hole on the small end? Or should I wait until the yolk is almost/all absorbed? I don't want to accidentally hurt the duckling by poking in the small end, but I don't want it to suffocate, either.

Thank you all so much for replying quickly and for taking the time to respond!
