Chat Thread for the New Crazy 24 hour Auction

Just candled the eggs I got from GardenWren. Today is day 8. All 20 eggs are showing veining. There are some with saddle shaped air cells and a few with air cells that "move" but just on one end. Advice on the saddle shapes and wobbling air cells?

Still wobbly at day 8? I try and keep the saddled ones with the saddle perpendicular to the tilt. Not really sure if it makes a difference yet, but seems plausible.

Yes, wobbly on day 8. I will rotate the saddle ones perpendicular to the tilting. I have the Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance EX (with humidity control). Humidity had been kept at about 38%. Will carefully check them again on day 14.

I have the same. Don't ya just love it? :D
One other thing, after I saw someone else here do it, I started drawing dotted lines where the saddles are, and solid around the actual bubble. Thought that was a nice trick to see if the saddles firm up.

I had an egg on my last hatch that had like an extra air pocket, half way down the shell. Looked odd when candled, so I circled it with a dotted line. The little sucker hatched. And afterward, I checked inside the shell, and the membrane was away from the shell, but didn't seem to bother the chick.

Good luck! And congrats to you and GardenWren on awesome fertility!

Thank you WVDuckchick! I am going to keep an eye on them. Read varying opinions on hatch success.

I am thrilled with the fertility and the eggs she sent! Highly recommend her to others that are looking for varied mixed breeds! I am very excited to see what I get. Really hoping for some Frizzles! They are so stinking cute!!!

I am going to have to use my previous incubator though to hatch out most of the eggs though- some of these eggs were really big! LOL They all barely fit in my Brinsea. I think what I will do is move most to the Farm Innovator Pro Series, as well as the ones which are wobbly/saddle shaped (if they progress to lockdown). These I will put into a egg carton with the bottoms cut out. That way the air cells are stabilized with baby rocking. I will keep a few in the Brinsea as well. It states good for 24 eggs- but who ever measured must have measured small eggs! I certainly can't see how 24 eggs could all hatch in it!

I had everything ready to go- my outside chores were done around sun up, my coffee had to wait, but my iced esspresso had me done with everything else early

My dogs hated me today bc they weren't allowed to patrol the front yard today bc I had to keep the gate open bc my version of santa was coming today!!!!
I could hear the little Diesel engine in my mind that tiny little truck had a box of magicness for me.
(No not drugs 'ew', not coffee !?) wait what could be so amazing!? Is it a new car!? No not that lucky...
A new coop!? No again not that lucky... hmmm a hot tub!? Wait how would that fit on his little USPS truck? Nooo you must know by now!? Given where I'm posting this rambling message making over half of you regret the time you wasted to read this far into my looping message that's like a merry-go-round that you can't get off of because you haven't quite mastered using your crutches yet and you don't want to face plant.... oh ya that's not you all. Lol :) sometimes it's best not to ask why how or what. Just- Smile and Nod.

Oh ya sooooo Santa Mail Dude was like really really late and I was so excited bc my Eggs( yes that's it eggs!!) were supposed to be delivered here today. It said out for delivery early this am. I've been ready since 8:30am waiting. (My USPS guy is All over the place on timing). I anxiously was running around the property doing more chicken stuff while making sure I didn't miss him and having hubbs listen for the door and watching my phone tracking and updating like every half hour lmao. And don't forget annoying the kind person Whom mailed these to me

"how much esspresso has this crazy person had!?!?!!?" Well a bottle of Starbucks esspresso but it was only half full. So that's only a little bit of lots of espressos.

But I'm just like all the variables and why did the package get stuck for a day in transit (I know it wasn't from the terrible weather up that way, they just abducted the box of eggs'

Jk)

The updates told me that my box was delivered and put in my mailbox like almost an hour or so earlier and I was like bull no. Bc I see every single person that touches my mailbox and I know no one did. And walked out and looked all around for said 'delivered box' and no, no

Woohoo! I'm so elated you're happy with them and that they're doing well! It's pretty cool that even after a trek across the country they're all developing. I'm gonna have to give the boys extra treats when I let them out in the morning for a job well done. Fingers crossed that you have an awesome hatch! Keep me posted!

Will do! I'm very excited.
