Chick with a slipped tendon

I have a day old Astrolorp chick with a slipping tendon on its hock.
I’ve looked it up & read what I can do to sort it.
The tendon won’t stay in so as per what I’ve read I’ve taped it & splinted it, I’ve also put a pair of braces on like for spraddle leg.
The chick is doing ok & mainly resting as they are still in the hatcher (4 chicks total) it’s had some feed & water & its poos have been fine, I’ve checked the tendon periodically through the day to make sure it hasn’t slipped off & is still in place.
What I’m after is if anyone has had success treating this, how they did it, if there is any advice on something I should change in what I’ve done & what sort of timeline I should work towards, I’m planning to remove the splint & tape in the morning & exercise the leg & reassess.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry about your chick. There is not a lot of success treating slipped tendons, and sometimes other leg problems can be possible, such as leg bone deformities—varus valgus, or twisted tibia. Here are a few links to read and one thread with success (start at post 12 for the vet visit) :

Thank you so much for the reply!
That success post was great & it’s almost exactly how I wrapped the leg so I’m hoping as it’s so early that it works, I was looking at my guy thinking the angle was too large but it’s almost exactly what the vets done for the peachick. I’m going to keep an eye on him & just keep an eye on the tendon that it holds with my tape & if it does I’ll go the week that she left it on hers then remove & reassess.
