Bubba is unwell. He is getting better. He is the one with a case of Wry neck. He ate lots today and can drink etc... on his own. I am giving him his vitamins and extra Vit E. He is happy as can be but has an upside down head.

I will give it my best to get him well.

Little do they know Chickens in the house is quiet common!!!

Yup! And chickens love pizza.

I mean they go wild over it and actually fight each other for it.

We had a party here for the grand daughter and the kids wanted pizza. Well they said they wanted it, kid fashion they took a few bites and left the rest. We scooped it all on one plate and I took it out to the hens,

Chickens can be so much fun.

So, I hate to admit this. As a breeder of Ameraucanas I am an Ameraucana snob. The admission here is I flippin' LOVE my EE's!

LOVE! I just hatched a beefcake of an EE...mom is NH, dad is Lav Ameraucana. The chick is a deep, rich shade of mahogony. I put her with a few 1 week olds to compare size and she is as big if not bigger than them!

Muggs: I love my EE mixes I get from my backyard. Some of them turn out really neat. I have some huge fluffy Speckled Sussex that I am dying to try mixing with some Ameraucanas and see if I can get some speckled EE's wonder if it would work???

I am rehoming 8 of my OE chicks today and keeping a few for myself. Keep your fingers crossed that the ones I keep are girly girls!

Went to TSC today for feed and saw the chicks.. A huge pile of Cornish X and two sad little pasty butt possible leghorns (in the 'pullet' bin). One elderly lady was checkign out the cornish X and musing how she could get one for her grandson.. I pointed out that they make you buy 6 AND that Cornish X are probably not what she was looking for.. They did also have duckies!
