Chicken won’t stay broody

Hi, One if my chickens has recently gone broody, She has been on and off the nest for 2 days now and can’t decide if she wants to go broody or not. She been sleeping in the nest box but this morning she got off, Then a couple of hours later she got back on, And now it’s been another couple of hours and she is off again. Is she broody? Last time I checked, Broodys shouldn’t take 2 hour breaks otherwise her eggs will die (Luckily I’m using decoy ones right now). I am planning on using her so I don’t want her to break.

Sounds like she's just testing the waters. A broody will take a break to eat, drink etc. but sounds like your hen is just considering at this point. How old is she?

She likes a year and a bit, This is her second time going broody, Last time we broke her because it was the middle of winter.

I would just give her some more time, she'll decide when she's ready and when she does you'll know.
