Do any of you play chess? Have you tried playing chess with your chickens? Do you think that chickens can play chess at all? Please share your thoughts and insights! What other things have you seen chickens do that you would not have thought possible? ..............

But are they good strategists? I wouldn't think so, what with the call they make to say they found something good and then end up having to play keep away.

I tried to play some chess with my lead/smartest hen this morning. She kicked over most of the pieces and pooped on the board.

I'm not sure if she doesn't understand the game or is merely cheating.

    On the MN prairie.
She knew full well what she was doing. She was cheating.

Maybe you could bait the best moves, by placing a feed pellet where the chicken should peck to move the figure..... Although you would really be playing against yourself....
