yellow, runny and clear droppings, with what appears to be black mold? Or spots in her droppings?
A photo really would help... but I had a pullet in January that started having bright yellow poop. Coccidosis was suggested & I had started treatment, but I was able to find a local vet who did see chickens. Turns out she had an abdominal tumor (diagnosed through internal exam, no necropsy). She'd always been a little off. Walked like a penguin, but laid eggs, ate and drank just fine. I assumed it was just how her breed walked as she was the only one of that kind we had. She also couldn't jump until much later than my other chickens. When she'd try to get into the coop she'd end up flying backwards.I have a hen named Sassy, a Road Island Red, and around 3 days ago, she started showing a lot of pain in her abdomen. She dropped her bottom and she had a hard time walking. My sister and I didn't understand what could be wrong, so we placed her in a bath and washed her abdomen. Unfortunately, she hasn't gotten better, and I believe she will not live much longer.
I researched as much as I could but couldn't find an answer. Sassy has yellow, runny and clear droppings, with what appears to be black mold? Or spots in her droppings?
If you know what this has caused my hen to suffer, please let me know!
:'(
I did ask for help on mice, as well as help for Sassy. You both provided answers, and I thank both of you in your kind efforts to help me.
Last night Sassy passed away peacefully.
I will try my best to prevent further deaths with this new knowledge. Thank you!
