Chickies, Chickies, Chickies!! Meet the new additions! (Pic heavy!)

6 weeks old already! Can you believe it?

So, honestly, I was working outside all yesterday while they were outside, so no pictures from that. But I did get their 6 week pictures before we went outside!

They are getting so big, aren't they? *sigh* They perched themselves last night, my smart babies. :love They're still my babies until they start laying--gotta cling to them as long as I can!

I'm good as far as chick withdrawals after all the work these babies have been, especially with the cats that are lurking around outside! :th Round about the time Meyer's opens up next year's chick orders, though, I'm gonna be back in broody mode. Hoping to grab myself some more Marans like a certain fuzzy bird we all know and love. ;)

OH! And I was working outside all yesterday and didn't get pictures of the babies outside, but Marama and Ihi had their first sun bath yesterday! It was so cute! Marama had her head feathers all spiked out and even put out her wing! :love I'm waiting for those two--Marama in particular--to discover real dustbaths, though they still prefer shavings dustbaths.

Good morning! :D I have a couple videos to share.

First off, here is Hika Ma's crows, from 26 days old to 40 days old to today for comparison. ;)

This one doesn't have as much going on as I remembered, but it's still pretty cute. Po trying to dustbathe with Rangi sitting in the way. Betty (my 2 year old EE) shows up at the end and makes Rangi nervous.

The babies have been outside all morning alone! Eek, I'm freaking out!! All looks well, no interest from the stray cats (probably because someone started feeding them  But it works for me.) They have a little makeshift tarp tent since we're supposed to have rain all day. Hoping they do alright. :fl

Meanwhile, I have been super-duper busy trying desperately to get the coop addition done in time for the babies to move out, but there isn't any way it's gonna happen, 'cause I usually move the babies out full time at 2 months old. :/ Oh, well. If this wretched rain ever passes, we can get some work done on it, at least. For now, I guess I'll have to work something else out for the babies' first nights outside in a week or so.

They are 7 weeks old today, so I'll be sure to get individual pictures of them some time today. :D
