Thanks!
Right now I have a Frizzle rooster and a Frizzle hen (in separate pens paired with smooth-feathered mates, of course). When I had just one pen, the only Frizzles I kept were hens. I think mostly it is just personal preference, but I had a few reasons for keeping the Frizzle pullets: a.) Some of my hatching egg customers did not want to hatch Frizzle chicks or wanted only Frizzle eggs, so I could send eggs from either Frizzle or smooth hens according to their wishes. b.) I found that it was easier to sell excess cockerels, and juvenile pairs and trios if the cockerel was a Frizzle. and c.) I really prefer the look of the Frizzle hens over that of the Frizzle roosters. It's purely my own opinion, but I'm not a big fan of how the frizzling looks on the roosters' longer feathers.
That makes great sense, especially reason "A". Thanks so much for your thoughts.
My Armand was my first frizzle, so I'm kinda partial to him, but I'm thinking I'd be better off without him.
I've probably posted these pics here, but this is my current pair.
