B/c she is not a male. This is what my male Cochin bantams looks like at three weeks old.

THANK GOODNESS!!

She came from a straight run and I was terrified of her turning out to be a roo, I think I have a few of those in other breeds already.

for starters, the middle toe isn't fully feathered, the stance is wrong, beak and leg color is wrong (should be yellow). beyond that, the rest would require more age to say for sure.

but if it's simply a pet, then enjoy it.
Thanks for the info. Who knows, the next time I will know more of what to look for. This guy had lots of cochin chicks in the brooder. He has some really flashy splashes. I just liked the blues.

BTW, What stance is wanted?

Yes 11 weeks old. Fairly sure its a Roo. His back never really got feathers...and the little ones he had he would pick at. Hes the only one like this in the entire flock. The rest of the birds are all fully feathered and nobody is picking on anybody. There isnt a nest in sight and theres no place to hide.

Should I get those saddles to cover the area to keep him from picking at it? do those work?

The coop is almost done...but the area they are in is spacious and they are put out in pens outside a few times a week.

Mine is doing the same thing!!!!

Hello! I am new to the forums, I just got 3 chicks from the Bantam box at a store, they didn't know what kind they were, they showed me pictures of Silkies! I went to a Silkie forum, and they directed me here and the Mille Fleur d'Uccle Bantam Forum.

I could use all the help I can get! You guys are the professionals! What do you think they are?

Thanks!!!

Are my two golden laced cochins both pullets? All the chicks are 8 weeks old. Their combs are pale, but there is a little pink at the base. They don't act "roosterie", but the one on the right did "call" the other chicks for meal worms. I am hoping the only boy in the bunch is the silver sebright. The "monster" chick is supposed to be an araucana, she already weighs about a pound, and is bigger than some of my serama's.

I just LOVE the cochins! The cochin chicks are the calmest chicks I have ever had! The one on the left is like a stuffed animal, she is so docile, even more so than the silkie (which is pretty calm).

They are VERY cute! They do look like little cochins. The little yellow one looks like it is a frizzle, and if you go by what they say about male cochins feather slowly, it seems to be a boy. But, just guessing as I have 2 of my own I can't sex
