I was told that she was a silver penciled Cochin but they could be wrong and they are all bantamsThe bird in the second pic appears to be a brahma not a cochin..
She is a silver lace. Can anyone tell me what the color of this hen would be called? Shes a cochin bantam from TSC last year. I've googled "silver penciled" and "silver laced" and neither of them seem quite the same. Any thoughts? When she bred with a Silver Laced cochin bantam roo, the chicks turned out solid black.
she is silver laced... did the chicks mature black or just start out black? most of my silver lace chicks start out black with silvery wings and develop the lacing usually with the second set of feathers. Can anyone tell me what the color of this hen would be called? Wow you have some beautiful birds thank u so much for the advice !! Do you ever sell hatching eggsI am currently the #1 exhibitor of Columbians in the USA using the Cochin International breeders points list. I have to hatch a lot and save a few to get good ones. Some of the best Columbian breeders will not do well in a show. . I absolutely love the Columbian pattern.. When you want to learn about a variety ask questions. I did. Always consider the source.![]()

Quote: Craig, I have absolutely loved every bird I've seen of yours. hopefully someday i'll have something to show for MY efforts, but if it weren't for breeders like you to help others along, I think a lot of varieties wouldn't be where they are now.
