Cochin Thread!!!

My girls in my den patiently awaiting the arrival of their babies due friday. I'm pretty sure all of my broody prone hens went broody at least once each already this year. I hope my poor cochin can regain some feather growth while she is mothering her kiddos. I had a rough boy that broke off a lot of her back feathers and shredded some of her wing feathers. My cochin roo is pretty clumbsy also. I really hope he gets the hang of it. He is making fertile eggs, but is a klutz doing it. He is a sweetie to the hens, just not very coordinated. My klutzy boy...
Very pretty chickens!!! My broody cochin looks a lot like yours.

beautyfull!!!!!!! i cant wait until i breed my 2 cochin hens to my friends roo.

Thanks guys. :) Mine are the big ones. I have a bantam barred pullet and a bantam gold laced pullet that I may breed to my mother in laws black bantam roo. My blue boy is about 11 lbs and my broody hen is about 8 lbs. She is my favorite hen. She is super mellow, but has a spoiled attitude that makes me laugh. When its time to go outside for her once a day poop she is very grumbly. She doesnt really try to bite me, just vocalizes her grumps. Blueberry my roo is a puppy. I can pick him up and cuddle him. We had to separate our ducks because he submitted to my drake. He will hopefully get some courage someday. The only thing he doesnt like are red shoes and red pants. He will walk up and peck those and then run away really quickly.

He is good to his girls though. All 22 of them. I have 4 LF black cochins in the flock also, 2 boys and 2 girls. I hope my blacks grow out nicely for a good breeding operation. I will be shipping eggs once my girls mature.
