Cochin Thread!!!

Yes, I remember and they are so cute! I'm so happy that they have a good home, and that's absolutely ADORABLE that the kids called them the Penguin Babies. I LOVE penguins. Like seriously love them - my horse brand is a "rocking penguin." Husband thinks my love for penguins borders on the unhealthy.

LOL...but penguins ARE so cute!!! Not unhealthy at all

Hello, I'm getting two cochins in a month. Is there anything I should know? They're bantams and I'm getting two silkies with them. I'm buying them as strait run, are you able to tell if they're male or female when they're a day old? Is there any special care I should give them?
???

I have 2 bantam cochins and 2 silkies that run together. I just hatched some of their chicks. The male is a blue frizzle bantam cochin, 2 white silkies and a female barred bantam cochin. Nothing special as far as extra care that I know of. And sexing... well, silkies are the hardest in my opinion. My male cochin crowed at like 4 weeks old! And now looking back at baby pics, he was pretty obviously male. I hope I can tell the babies quickly, they are a week old now. Post some pics and we'll take a look!

Hi All!
Been a while since I have been on this thread or BYC but checking in

@WallabyOfChaos I hatched out some of your babies last year!
I have a preschool class and they called these chicks the "Penguin Babies" because of their color and pattern....LOL

Zarina the Pirate Fairy decided she was tired of being in isolation and she rejoined the coop about a week ago. One eye lighter but her feathers are starting to come in around the base of her head and around her neck.

Hi, guys

These are a pair of cochins I bought the other day, the hen's blue, but I have no idea what the male could be.
The lady I got him from had no idea too lol
Does anyone know what color he is? Birchen mix possibly?
Thanks :)

Let me just join the club of fancy colored cochins I don't know what to call. Top is a roo and so is the last one. Middle is a small hen. All three are bantam crosses
