According to the
Genetics Calculator , you would get the following:
Lemon Blue Roo x Partridge Hen =
50% Pullets, black patterned gold incomplete-columbian
50% Cockerels, black patterned gold columbian
Lemon Blue Roo x White Hen =
50% Pullets, black patterned gold incomplete-columbian
50% Cockerels, black patterned gold columbian
Lemon Blue Roo x Black Hen =
50% Pullets, black unicolor
50% Cockerels, black unicolor
Lemon Blue Roo x Blue Hen =
25% Pullets, blue unicolor
25% Pullets, black unicolor
25% Cockerels, blue unicolor
25% Cockerels, black unicolor
(For the above, there was no option for Lemon Blue, so I subbed in Lemon Porcelain. What you may get may be similar or completely different. You can play with the genetics calculator to see the possibilities.)
Ok. thanks. I will know in a few months (I hope) Hens are about 4-5 months so should start laying soon.
The above calculations would be what you'd expect if you were using a bird that was genetically lemon blue, assuming pattern genes were the appropriate ones. I've yet to see anyone on this forum post a picture of an actual lemon blue Cochin, that was derived from breeding using pure Brown Red Cochins. Most of what we see are Buff X Blue crosses. So while you may see some of the calculations above, I doubt it will be 100% accurate.
