Cochin Thread!!!

I'm a huge fan of barring patterns and I love Cochins. I have recently found Barred Cochins and was wondering if any folks around here sold eggs or birds. I have some beautiful Barred Rocks but I am not very knowledgeable in the area of chicken genetics. Did the Barred Cochins come from Barred Rocks or Dominique crosses? Once again sorry for the ignorance it's just that I have seen some Barred Cochins that closely resemble a Plymouth bird in the face to me. Thanks for any help! This would be Large Fowl by the way.

I talked to Johnny Baker the other day - he said there's a contingent of 17 going to Crossroads that he's aware of. Of course that covers all breeds, not just Cochins.

And everyone should remember to check out the Cochins International table while you're there!!!

You don't have to be a member of Cochins International to stop by the Cochin Table at Crossroads - your love of Cochins will get you a friendly greeting, a cup of coffee, and a piece of Linda's yummy pumpkin bread (if there's any left!).

The Club will be holding raffles, as well as silent auctions, for birds, carrying cages and supplies. So be sure and show your support by buying a raffle ticket or two, and by placing a bid or two!

Club members - don't forget to pickup your copy of the new 2011-12 Cochins International Breeders Directory at the table. Not a member? There will be folks available to help you with that also!
