I have a long list of places around the US for rock hunting but I haven't taken the time to organize each one to show what can be found there. One of these days I'm going to convince someone to go on a road trip with me to stop at several of these places. lol

Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, etc. It is now illegal to collect it on State or Federal lands.

Beautiful! My pond is still not much more than a hole with water. Because there aren’t any plants in it, it turns brown, so we have to put pond dye in. Of course that just makes it look strange, but it’s better than the brown! (and somewhere there is a very blue raccoon who had the bright idea of getting into my bottle of dye and spilling it all over himself AND into the creek)

Hopefully my pond will look as nice as yours one day

Mine took multiple years to get to this point. It started out as a 175g plastic molded pond form from menards. Haha. After getting a taste of pond keeping we decided to dig a bigger rubber lined pond It takes work, but is so worth it! Your blue raccoon story had me laughing

It is!
I put off putting in the patio for over a year, so this was our first year with it. I’m very happy we got it done. Of course I got it all looking great the one year we end up having almost no company over to enjoy it. But that’s ok. It was so nice enjoying my morning coffee with the mosquito netting down so I don’t getting eaten alive while I watch the birds. Oh man, just thinking about it makes me miss summer! Winter hasn’t even officially started and I’m already wishing it was over!
