My best guess is that it is a portion of a petrified dinosaur bone.
That's so awesome!!! With your permission, may I ask some people that are better at identifying fossils what they think it is?

View attachment 2445918Do you think this used to have a shell in it, or could it just be a rock with a hole that happens to look just like one?
Yeah I’ve always wondered. But I keep it just in caseHmm, that's a definite maybe. lol View attachment 2445934

Beautiful! My pond is still not much more than a hole with water. Because there aren’t any plants in it, it turns brown, so we have to put pond dye in. Of course that just makes it look strange, but it’s better than the brown! (and somewhere there is a very blue raccoon who had the bright idea of getting into my bottle of dye and spilling it all over himself AND into the creek)Here are a few I keep in plant pots. I’m really drawn to round and flat rocks. The one round rock on the bottom right I carved a koi on. View attachment 2446423
I wish I had a better picture, but here’s one of a rock I carved on. It makes me smile(bottom left) Id get a better one but my pond is covered with a tarp for the winter. View attachment 2446424
In this one you can see my large collection of rocks I’ve gathered upThe stripped rock between the two swings is special because it was in the woods and I had admired it for a long time. My determined husband used his truck to drag it over to the garden for me❤ The smaller one behind it I used the lawnmower to drag over
I’m determined too

Hopefully my pond will look as nice as yours one day![]()
