Connecticut!

If it warm outside with lots of sunshine I use to make a play pen out of some window screens. I would collect everybody in a laundry basket and bring them out side. Then at the end of the day I would bring them back inside.

So cute.. I was using a cardboard box but they've outgrown it (well, most of them have). And their dog kennel brooder is too big to drag outside... maybe I need to go and find an empty laundry basket now!

Watch out for large birds like Grackles if you don't have a top on it!

AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!! I put my new banty outside in a wire crate so I could clean out her cage and so she could enjoy the nice day.. When I tried to transfer her back, she slipped out of my fingers and is now loose in the backyard. She is waaay too fast. Of course, my other banty, Betty, also likes to give me the middle claw when I say "time to go back in the run" and will spend the day out and about - making the rest of the girls jealous. Now she and Edith are off causing trouble together, smokin in the bushes and getting tats. Betty is teaching Edith all the places to hide. I know I'll eventually get Betty to go back in the run when I call "treats", but Edith still thinks that treats are just a big plot by me to kill her off.

Grrrr... I left the crate out in the yard with the door open and food inside.. we'll see if she is smart enough to come home.

Now, don't hate me, BethG!

Tinman thank you SO much for posting about your screens - it is exactly the idea that I needed!!! I've been trying to think of "something bigger" because they are outgrowing the small circle of hardware cloth that I made for warm days.
I have -alot- of screens and when I read your post I ran outside and fastened them all together to make the perfect temporary run for my babies while we paint the coop.

Hi fellow CT people! I've been on here a while, but never really look anywhere other than the livestock or hobbies area and I'm too scared to venture into the random ramblings section!

I'm over on sufficient self too, if any of you are over there look me up!

Are there mostly bird people here or do any of you have bigger animals (other than your spouses/family members
