I lost one and if I hadn't checked on them when I did I would of lost two more. I ended up bringing two into the house and set them on some frozen peas. I took one back out a couple hours later. The other one spent the night and next day in the house.
I have fans in all my houses and most of the chickens can free range any time they want. I have however had a couple just sit in the heat (because of the shade I think) and die. I have fans in every coop but still it is just too much for some of them. It is really sad to loose some of your best poultry to the heat. I just keep praying that it will break and we can get back down to decent temps.

I got some last week at the east side TSC. $12 for 20lb, I think.
Much better than where I got mine. Hillside Feed and Seed, I think my bucket had about a pound in it for about the same price.
If you read the label on a bag of floor dry you get from the auto parts store. It states 100% DE. $7.00 for a big bag. Iv been using it solely for my quail since early spring and they are fat and happy. Loaded the dust pans today as a matter of fact. They eat it, roll in it, throw it and sand everywhere, make a big mess and have a great time!!! I enjoy watch'in the show as much as they love dust bath'n. Bill
Naughty I may have spent to much but I bought 4 lbs of DE for $13 at Johnsons garden center. Sorry about your loss, I too lost two good hens. I put up a tarp to shade the whole 32 foot run, put our shop fan in there to move the air through and at least four 2 liter frozen bottles out at a time and ice bottles in all the waterers. I have been spraying the run down 2 or 3 times a day, I know I'm feeling paranoid about the heat now but I don't want to have any more problems.
Has any one else put water on some of there food to make a mash? They sure seem to eat it up.
