Thanks; it is work, that's why all I was wanting to do was something simple and quick just for quick reference to know where each of us are. I don't want to step on toes, but it was a thought to help Kansans out.

I just looked at that breeders list. It is difficult to navigate and the only user I found on it from Kansas is Chooks. I like Candace's idea much better. So Candace are you computer savy enough to design this thing for us? What do the rest of you think?

My two-cents worth: Support the lovely individuals that have made BYC possible. I'm not sayin you can't do your own thing, but they have given us a wonderful place to get together and share our passions. Why reinvent the wheel? Let them know you had trouble with it, and get the Kansas people on their list!

I wasn't aware there was a list by state, how do you find that & what info is there? I just think we need to have something easy to access that could be updated easily as needed.

I would just take the page I have there and put info on it, I can kinda customize it some, to look like chickens, but I was going to be simple and basic; something that we as a Kansas group want to update monthly, would need to be easy to keep it where I can keep up with it.
I want it just simple, is what I was thinking.
I don't think we'd need to have it was detailed as the one I did for the goat site I am on, just mainly a quick look for us here in Kansas, I imagine there aren't a ton. (this is the one I did for goatbeat, and I need to add a few to it! lol we are growing, not as fast as BYC)
http://goatbeat.net/breeders.htm

If I got the info like above, I wouldn't mind just having it as a page off my site so it doesn't take up BYC info or bandwidth, I do not want to step on any toes.

I am NOT trying to step on toes, I agree that people need to support BYC. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel, what I am suggesting is a quick reference for people who have stuff available now this month; today; her in Kansas.

A breeder listing is great, but even when you submit the info to BYC (Which I feel needs to be done) so they have a good data base, you have to email each one to find out if they have something now.

With the one I did/am doing for GB, even emailing the ppl on there, you do not know if they have something available now.

What I am suggesting is something that you are only on the listing IF you have something available. A quick reference for us. So we know who has what now or this coming month or so....

Candace, I think it needs to be something accessible to everyone though like someone else said from BYC. Once this thread rolls on how are people going to know about this & find the info? Maybe you could contact the BYC forum admin & see if it's something that could be added to the Index list so people could find it easily. I looked at the Index listing on Breeders & Hatcheries & you would be hard pressed to find any state info unless you want to scroll forever looking for it or try to use the search. I agree, we need something easy to access & just a simple format. I think if people don't want email info on there they can just have people PM them on BYC. Some people I've noticed don't like to give our their email address due to spam & etc.

I was just thinking it could be a link we shared though here on the Kansas thread, if I updated it once a month, ppl say yeah, here is what we have: and post the link, if anyone asked... lol
I didn't mean for it to get so detailed, only for it to be something we would share on here, on this thread, so we weren't going back and forth so much.
I wouldn't mind doing, BUT, it would really not be for me, yeah, I'd probably look at it, as there were some breeds that interested me, but I don't raise and sell my chickens. I was just thinking create the simple page, as it was the way I showed it, with the information, then share it on the Kansas thread.
I was trying to offer this to help people on here.

They could even just say PM from BYC. I've had that done too....
