Try forwarding the files directly from your phone to your e-mail (there should be a tab for that under your "Contacts" profile.) You may have to do them one at a time. but they usually will transfer. From there, it's just a matter of finding a compatible program/app on the laptop to open them. It took me a while to figure it out from my old phone (a dumb-phone, not a smart one!) but it made a world of difference!
Thanks MROO, I will try that.

My hunch is a share and firewall default setting in the newer windoz that makes legacy equipment connections "unfriendly" to start with.....

I was considering buying clippers and doing it myself but she’s really matted right now and I’ve read cat skin is super sensitive and easy to cut/tear, especially when it’s hard to tell the mat from the skin, so I figured I better leave it to the pros. :lau she’s a super gentle and easy cat but I don’t want to risk hurting her. Plus the full shave is only like $50-$60 so not too too bad. A lot cheaper than a vet bill if I accidentally cut her up or an ER visit if she cut me up. :lau

I don’t usually shave her. Only had it done a couple times. Mostly just when she gets matted. She hates being naked so I try not to do it anymore. 😂🤣

But I think I might just have to start keeping her short so she doesn’t get matted again. Maybe a tad longer than “naked.” 😂🤣🙈

I think I might buy a pair of clippers anyway though just so I can maintain it from now on before it mats. And in case I ever get a poodle. 😂🤣
The best way to maintain a long-haired cat is to get her accustomed to combing (not brushing, that glosses over the mats) Once they realize how good a comb feels, ours flop over as soon as they see us holding one. That's how DS broke through on our two new former-ferals. One is still coming along , the other is now a obnoxiously friendly pushover. Paco, my long-haired "Heart-Kitty" - that's my beautiful boy in my avatar - was such a sucker for a good combing that all we had to do was tap one on a counter or table and he'd come running. Without a comb, he wouldn't let a soul other than me touch him!

So - invest in a good grooming comb, a metal one with rounded tines, not a cheap WalMart/Hartz/pet comb. A good one is under $20 - a lot cheaper than another salon trip! Then use it religiously EVERY day. Don't think it as a grooming, make it petting and bonding time. You'll BOTH come to love it!

I knew you were being serious...that's why I was laughing so hard I fell out of my chair!

Pretty Ragdoll!
And oh boy, I know the humidity you get over your way. I'd have to brave a trip to crazyworld, um I mean Walmart just to pick up a window AC. I can't do heat + humidity, I melt.
oh trust me that topic has come up more than once lately but hopefully there will be air today or tomorrow :fl had to tear out some old duct work and insulation and replace the old unit. The heat and humidity are NOT fun especially right now when it's not safe to go to a public pool... at least we have plenty of land and shade so the late afternoon and evenings outside are very nice.

I went to visit friends in MN last July. It was paradise. They were hitting highs of 85 and the locals were complaining about the heat. LOL. I think I tolerate the humidity better than I could tolerate their winter. I say that now but in a month or two I will be dreaming of fall...

Thank you!! This is really helpful!!! I actually don’t really ever use an actual “brush” cause they don’t really work. I usually try to use an undercoat rake which seems to work well because she just has soooo much but I might try to find a good comb. I actually think I have some somewhere. I ordered some online several years ago for the dog, greyhound comb I think, but idk where they are now.

I hate to force her though because she gets so upset. :(

I was trying to work on it little by little for a while though. Like if she let me do a section or just touch it to her or whatever, I’d give her a treat and let her go, and tried not to let her go when she was struggling, but I haven’t been working on it lately. And now I really can’t because she’s super sensitive with these mats.

OMG I love browsing thrift stores for antique/vintage stuff! I haven't been able to get my fix in forever. I've found some extremely good deals sometimes. My friend loves antique shops (I do too) she thought I was nuts when I told her I shop thrift stores and sometimes garage sales for my vintage finds. I'm like girl you haven't lived until you've found a rare vintage item you like and it's pocket change compared to what you would pay elsewhere. I still find some good stuff at antique stores though don't get me wrong. Sigh.
I once found a neat little, fabric lined sewing box, complete with a matching basket inside, at a yard sale. It was late, it was getting dark, and I struck up a conversation with the lady-in-charge (big surprise there, right?) I like little wooden boxes, and I picked this one up, thinking it a was a cheap bamboo one that I could use in my bathroom. It had a broken hinge pin, so the homeowner sold it to me for a dollar.

When I got it home, I almost had heart failure. Out of the bag, the box wasn't bamboo, it was burnt-end matches over an old wooden cigar box. Genuine Depression-era TRAMP ART! I fiddled with the lid until I could open it without further damage. Inside, was a sliding drawer made like a handled basket - more matchsticks. The inside of the box was lined with a 40's era green fabric, and the basket was lined in the same fabric, but was padded like a pin-cushion. The box had never been used. It was definitely old, but like new!

I haven't had it officially appraised, but I have sent pictures out. It's not worth any fortune (as if I would sell it, anyway!) but it's definitely a treasure! We'll just say it's worth considerably more than the dollar I paid for it, even with the broken hinge!
I LOVE yard sales and thrift stores. Without them, where would we get all the stuff we need to sell in our OWN yard sales?

Gee ... with Covid and other threats now a regular part of our "new normal," do you think the world will ever be up for yard-sale Saturdays again? Those were SO much fun!

Portfolios? We do'n need no stinkin' 'folio's!

Now-a-days we have "pics or it did'unt-happin!" :gig
speaking of... it's really hard to get a pic of a chicken following you around. I tried! This is the best I could get..

There have been smaller peaceful protests here in my area but hardly any of them are wearing masks. (according to what I saw on my local news)
They are moving and marching, but they are also pretty tightly bunched up and chanting. I hope our hospitals don't get overwhelmed again.

Got a pretty scary email from my local hospital - they said they were canceling all appointments yesterday because they'd gotten a tip that there could be riots/looting near the area. From what I've seen in the news, nothing actually happened, but could you imagine how scary/stupid it'd be if people tried looting or breaking into a hospital with known Covid patients inside??
