Stuck between a rock and a hard place if you ask me. :) We are dieing with air pollution problems. Our animals are dieing. Our earth is dieing. Our weather is crazy because of it. Something needs to be done, no wait, something should have been done years ago. :( It's only going to get worse if nothing is Changed.

My daughter wants to drive all day (literally, it takes that long) to visit her grandparents. Grandma says, "no, I know you are really careful but...." . Just like the last time she tried to visit; last summer, I think.

This to the daughter who has taught virtually this year, still gets groceries brought out to her car, actually wears the mask properly (well fitted, doesn't touch it, etc)

This from the grandmother who has not only been staying for the past two weeks in the same house with a high schooler and middle schooler who both go to school but also driving them to and from school and fast-food job for that time. Their mother is working in Mexico for these two weeks. This from the grandmother who goes to birthday parties and on vacation with a third set of grandkids who go to school, dance classes, friends' houses often, and jobs.

Exasperating.

But it doesn't matter because daughter just found out the virtual school will close at the end of this year. So she will be looking for a job during spring break instead of visiting anyone.

The virtual school was promised to be non-covid related. (Well, also non-covid-related; of course it was partially covid related.) In the months of everyone doing virtual school last year, they said, they had discovered enough students with cancer/autism/preference/etc that did so much better with virtual school that they were going to do a permanent, on-going-after-covid, virtual school as an option like any of the "buildings" type schools.

Well, that was then. This is now. Now, they said in the meeting, they are closing it because covid is so much less of a problem.

She had a good spot before. That they would close this option after covid concerns eased was her biggest reservation. She checked that aspect out as thoroughly as could be done.

Looks like they got a new roll squirrel

Mother Earth is resilient. She repairs herself if she is left untouched and untainted. Just look at bikini bay. Once bombed and iratiated now has the highest population of reef sharks and is thriving. Problems are not resolved by humans. We create them.

Don't let them wear you down. The Earth is much more resilient than they want you to believe.
More CO2 and warmer weather means better growing conditions. Storm events are actually becoming LESS frequent. It seems worse because of many more people living in what used to be empty space, and a 24 hour news cycle.
My animals are dying because of too many wild possums in the middle of the city. Although they haven't eaten my chickens yet, we have eagles, coyotes and alligators moving in to the "hood".
A lot of people invest time and money to keep people scared. Things are not as bad as they seem. :hugs

Truth to that. I've had a coyote hanging around eyeing my girls around their bedtime. Saw a red tail attack a woodpecker today too. Luckily I have a fence and a dog but the coyote seems unphased by my dog. She'll bark and bark but the coyote will just stop and stare at her.
