You are not taking into consideration anything positive. So maybe that makes this scenario kindof biased.

If you hatched him he didn't bring it in. You have to think about your most recent additions. If there is ANY chance at all, at 8 weeks I gave a bunch of roos to a person who had no chickens. Well he called someone to pick up these chickens for processing. I felt really bad for this giant JG roo. So I took him back. At this point he spent birth to 6 weeks with me, then 4 months away from my flock. Than came back to me. He lived for 4 years , so as a 4 year old he became lame . When he couldn't eat, I had to give him the vodka cocktail to cull.

So I do believe that if your chicks are away from home for a number of months, then comes back, their immune system has had some time to deal with a small amt. of virus before coming back to my home . This is just something that happened once. I can't promise anything.
Thank you, that’s good to know.

I haven’t brought any new birds in except for these chicks which haven’t come in contact with the birds and of course are brand new so doubt they brought it in. I am wondering if my birds just have it and I didn’t know? They are vaccinated except these 3. We also have a lot of turkeys and wild birds around here and they free range most of the time.

I did give those cockerels away but I didn’t really touch anything And used hand sanitizer and we met elsewhere. And I gave them the container.

Yeah, we actually do have an exotic animal vet not far from here. I was thinking of taking him in about his leg but wasn’t sure. Now that he’s worse, I think I would like to take him in and see what they think but then I didn’t want to risk anyone else’s animals if it is Marek’s so idk. I don’t want to mess up the sample though so having a vet do it would probably be best. Especially if they could also put him down for me.

Remember that if you are well educated, you know far more than any vet even an exotic one. The one vet I had dx'd my first one with EEE not even in mosquito season. So IMO, the vet can put him down nicely. If you want to know the truth keep the body refrigerated , then what I do is wrap them several times with small garbage bags. The body needs to be cold but not frozen. I add a lot of ice pacs (which I save over the years). In a styofoam cooler in a box, with the paperwork (I put a check in there for at least $50.00) Not for nothing I felt so much relief when I sent them out. Now I would know for sure. I send any deaths that don't have a why because I do it for the flock.

I am not sure. I hear that Texas A&M can do it . But I've never talked to them.
Kelsey isn't anywhere near Texas.
(What I mean is she isn't going to be able to walk her bird in to be tested)
She could try to draw blood but I know Kdog...she is better of not wasting money and getting a necropsy which is a for sure answer....no false positive/false negatives involved.

Pretty soon stores will be missing a lot of food items. Saw a article lettuce, spinach etc being plowed under, fields of strawberries rotting, etc. Either can't get packaging material, workers to pick, transport products, places to sell etc. Kinda wonder if farmers will bother growing corn this yr, a lot of corn goes for methanol production and with people not driving no demand for it.
Months from now we'll all be wondering why there isn't canned or frozen produce no jams or jellies.
Maryland corn is going in, as planned. We don't have the monster "company farms" of the midwest, so many of our farms are still family owned and run. To paraphrase my sister & BIL - Farmers plant every year, hoping, but never knowing for sure, if the crop will be fruitful. Farming is part sweat, part hope and a whole lot of faith. that's why farmers are truly the "salt of the Earth!"

Other wild birds can be carriers to your chicken.

Had you sent in your last death for a necropsy you may have known something more than you know now but that makes no difference now either.
Just get an answer this time.
