Call me an idiot, a snowflake, too sensitive or too concerned, but I actually care if I were to inadvertently pass this virus to somebody else. Even the anti-maskers, inveterate anti-vaccers: as much as I disagree with them, I would be devastated if I got someone else sick.

Yes I would feel horrible if I was a typhoid Mary. Not sure if I could live with myself.

Lol, there's a lot more to life then not having to wear a face diaper. My life really hasn't changed much since the BS started. I work outside in landscaping, so I wasn't affected with stay at home mandates like most. So I guess your correct I am a lucky person.

The virus easily passes through N95, and other face coverings while breathing normally. 100% ineffective.

The simple disposable masks are about 70 % ineffective.
but if 2 people were a mask transmitting gets to 70% x 70% = 49%
+ people keep more distance (psychological effect)
Conclusion : not perfect but is does help.

Yup. And those that have been polled that have had covid, and said they always wore masks 100% of those polled that always wore masks and ended up getting covid were wearing masks and got covid , 100% of them.

Went into Dollar General today no mask just a quick needed a extra water hose, didn't want to buy a cheapie but needed a little more length so good enough. Garden needed some watering.
Don't usually see it but a dozen people with big carts of groceries in front of me, all wearing masks. I wasn't .
Lady insisted I could go ahead of her, the whole group wearing masks, I said no big deal, she insisted I go first one item, OK ain't going to argue. Apparently they weren't scared of me, and I wasn't them.

To me a vaccine is something that 100% prevents the spread of the virus, and stops anyone from getting the virus.

There's no vaccine in existence that prevents any virus 100%. Even the polio vaccine that's been around for over 60 years isn't 100% effective. People who have weakened immune systems due to a wide variety of causes, aren't going to form enough antibodies from any vaccine. The only reason polio is so rare as to be almost non-existent, is because almost everybody gets the vaccine, so the disease has nobody to spread to on the rare occasion it infects somebody. It would be good for everybody if we could get to that point with covid.

And consider the smallpox vaccine - it's been around for over 200 years (in different forms) and there certainly wasn't much of a testing or approval process in 1796, but the only complications have been in immunocompromised, allergic or pregnant people. And smallpox is now considered eradicated.

I guess people should just consider whether the risk of a vaccine for themselves is less or greater than if they contract the coronavirus. My belief is that in general, getting the vaccine carries much less of a risk, but everybody should research legitimate science and decide for themselves.

I wasn't around her this past 2 weeks, luckily. She is sick, lost taste and smell, but otherwise just fatigued.
