Update: Chance is definitely gaining strength everyday! He's starting to put up more of a protest when I go to handle him than Day 1. Also, I can definitely see some pink color coming in on his bill and legs! So thankful for everyone's support! We appreciate it, and Chance does too!!

Small victory tonight! This is the first night Chance has known his way to bed! When it's time to pen everyone for the night, I always say "Time for birds to go to bed"....chickens are usually already there, ducks and BB head to bed...and Chance just stands around beep beeping.

Well....tonight I said time for bed, and with a little coaxing, just walking behind him, Chance went to bed!!!! I'm talking bee line straight for his pen!! Yall just don't know how nice that is!!! Every night it's been 10-15 minutes of trying to steer him into his pen. Sure, I could just carry him, but I was hoping if he walked himself it would help to figure out his surroundings.

Ending today one proud goose mama!!

Geese are very noisy. They constantly chatter to each other and get even louder when they talk to me.

That's what I thought I understood about the quarantine with geese, they weren't as susceptible to disease as chickens. So the plan is drake jail for the gander...which is actually a pretty big space...I would say 15'×20'. Also planning on clipping the wings until he feels comfortable in his new home and I can see how flighty he may be.

Poor thing that is pure neglect and it’s not adoption it’s rescue. Do you have Poultry Nutridrench be sure to put it into his water along with b complex for his legs.

Thank you for getting him. Maybe the eye sight is reaction to sun light exposure and lack of adequate diet. But time will tell. Try drenching his food and chopping up the greens just like a gosling. He has to learn how to forage like a gosling.

I’m so happy for him that he’s getting a much better life than he had! Have you tried any testing to see how blind he is? Like putting a hand over his eyes, or waving a cloth at different distances?
Just curious cause I’m currently working with a blind pheasant, your guy seems much more active!
