He is really something! Not sure if his eye sight is improving or he's just getting more familiar with his surroundings, but he's definitely able to get around the yard better. And he's fearless, except for the chickens! If my dogs are out to do their business (a Terrier mix, and a Great Dane) he goes right up to them beep beep beeping I'm trying very hard to get a good pic of him nose to nose with the Dane!
He loves the pool now, and occasionally makes a more graceful entrance than in that video. I'm also convinced he's part pig...he eats..and eats.

One thing that's come up I wanted to ask you guys about...
I've been sort of protecting Chance from a lot of the bird bullies. One of which is a chicken, the other is Tom the drake...who follows his woman around all day and chases off any of the birds that get too close. He also does not allow the geese in the pool if he and Fraggles are swimming. (This is why he's been sent to jail several times) So anyways, my question is. .should I continue to chase the bullies off of him, or should I let him try to deal with them on his own? I'm not sure if it's a pecking order type thing with the chicken, I don't think she's hurting him, just scares him.

Stand back an watch the interactions. Only way he is going to fit in and learn. Now that he is stronger I sure wouldn’t have rec this when you first brought him home. I actually have to keep my gander an drake (Muscovy) not Runner separated during breeding season first my gander is beating the tar beat out of my drake and my drake wont back down then once goose breeding season is over my Muscovy drake is relentless in trying to fight my gander an of course my gander is now wimp since hormones have fallen off. Last few weeks my Drake has slowed down on harassing the geese so things are winding down. Thank goodness. Sounds like Chance is making up for lost time with eating bathing and being a goose!

And a video for you guys as well...

Lol @ Missy ..she's wondering where that poor baby is! :lau

The age I was told was about 6 mos....from this year's hatch. However, BB is also from this year's hatch, around 5 mos....and has had neck feathers for a while now...Chance still has fuzz on his neck, and sounds much younger.
Not terribly concerned about them mating, probably won't allow them to hatch babies in case Chance's issues are genetic. But it would be nice to see her show a little more interest!

And yes @blackandtan I agree! I would love to see more people keep us posted! I think of Chance as a community goose though, BYC has been so good to us, and crucial to his recovery!:love:highfive:
