Love the sign.... I'm not making signs...but for those who are...
I bought this one at a craft place in October...I adore it! It hangs above my bed....
My daughter is making potholders for myself and her grandmothers...
she just finished her first one...which is mine...
Wow thanks so much for sharing everyone. I had to start an idea portfolio on all this stuff LOL Just what I needed.
Now I need HELP. I am in so much pain from this weather change (4 degrees above at 8:30 this morning) I can not think straight and need a wallet pattern that I can make, does anyone have one they are will to share that has simple instructions that a quick write up on here or in a pm, one that I can make up fast. Thanks for any and all ideas. I am making all my girls and a couple of others purses from a pattern I got from a quilt store. It is just too cute, and I want to make a matching wallet.
Good idea Zoo!!!!! There are sooooo many things I want to try, and have tried, from this thread that other people have made! We sure have some talented folks on BYC!!!
I just had to share something that I am going to do for some members of our Horse Club...I was looking through my State Line Tack catalog, and they had glycerin soaps with little horses in the middle of them! Now, I had just been to Atwoods (which is like a TSC) and they were selling the little horses up at the counter in a tub for 50 cents each! I figure I can make up several, lightly tinted different colors and my DS knows how to make the paper boxes. If I have them in a long box filled with raffia or straw, I think it will be a really cute present! And it works out to just a few dollars a piece! They sell a set of four for $16.99 reg. On sale now for $12.99. This is item #671430 if anyone needs a visual.
I just thought this was a really cool (and cheap!) idea for a great present!
Yesterday my DGD, DGS, and I spent most of the day making ornaments. We made flourclay ornaments that we will paint today, and started clothespin snowmen ornaments that hopefully we will finish today. I will post pics when we are done. Still considering blown egg ornaments, but not sure.
DGD and I are still working on the placemats and napkins, she is still working on round loom knitted hats.
I need to make her a rice bag, she has commandeered mine lately to warm her feet through the night. I need to get more chicken wire for baskets, what I have is kinda rusty and icky. We needed more anyway. I will start forcing bulbs today.
I think a basket with a few ornaments, placemats/napkins, and daffodills?? and a few assorted cookies will be fine. I can't afford to do much baking this year. I will bake a gingerbread house for DH, me and the grandkids to decorate, then take it to DMIL's house for Christmas eve. I'm thinking about making the pieces for another one and sending all the neccessaries with it over to our DD in Afghanistan to put together. We of course will be sending her a box with ornaments and goodies in it. I will make a few small batches of some of our Christmas musthave's, and of course DH wouldn't know what to do if I didn't make him his truffels. He waits for them all year and can't wait to find them and open them on Christmas morning.
Good Sunday morning to all, looks like rain here today.
