Crafters- What are you making???

So what is the "project of the month" everyone is working on now? lol!! Christmas recovery?!! I am finihsing a horrid colored afghan for my daughter, in the sugar and cream cotton yarn, mardi gras, sunburst and yellow..wow, can you say LOUD!! She loves it, I'll take a picture when I'm done. Then I am gonna cut 12" squares from some Debbie Mum fleece I bought so I can make those cool throws. I'll do the babyghan crochet squares during my lunch breaks at work and the spring swap crochet shapes when I can. Need to organize my project list, lol! Have a great day

..cute kid Skand!!

I buy lots of 1.5 yard cuts of XMas sale fabrics and make pillowcases so I can use them as wrapping gift bags next year.
I hate to use wrapping papper and this way, everyone gets several good pillowcases for them to use during the year to remember me by!!.
I do the same when JoAnnes has sales on novelty prints and sports themed fabics - i wrap my boys presents in them during the year as well.

Right now, I'm working on an ripple afghan. I'm also in the process of looking for the materials I need for my ornament design of choice this year.

I'm still trying to get my list together for what I want to make for each person on my list.

Besides getting my totebag and trivet business up and running, I'm making quilts for my 2 DH's. Kute Kitten graduates from high school in 8 years and Peanut in 13 years. I'm making them quilts for graduation. I figure if I start now I should have plenty of time. I'd rather finish them ahead and put them up until graduation than be rushed.

OK, I know it's a typo but I couldn't resist!

My projects are: a chicken cross stitch kit, crocheting dishrags & potholders, and making weird little dolls out of pipecleaners and string with DD2.

I am learning a new craft this month! I am going to take a Wilton cake decorating class. It was offered at half price at our local Hobby Lobby store, so I jumped on the opportunity.

Does anyone else here decorate cakes?

I'm working on shawls or scarves for each of the women in my church. It started out as Christmas presents, but you know how it goes when ya decide to do a big project like that in the MIDDLE of November. lol
So far I've gotten three shawls and two scarves done. lol I didnt say I was quick. hehe
I'm going to (as soon as Karen okays the color choices) be working on baby afghan squares, and my spring swap squares for the grown-ups' afghans. lol
And in between all that, I plan on doing odd crafties with the girls. Guess I better break out the newspaper for paper mache. lol
OOOO oh, and I'm wanting to paint my cabinet doors and the wall in the hall. Totally detest my all white surface paint in the house.
Need color to detract the eye from the crayon smears.

Not on the technical level. But my mom took the class years ago, and I learned from watching her, that and her arthritis got so bad, half the time, I'd finish the cakes for her. It's really neat. Please tell me they arent teaching only to use fondant, that stuff is disgusting!
