Those look cool, I had no idea what you all were talking about, seems like a handy idea too!! Thanks for posting the pics, couldnt get a visual of those in my head!
A few people have asked me about the blueberry vodka so I thought I would just mention how it's made...
I used a medium prices vodka (Burnett's) and poured it into a big bottle with about a cup of blueberries. I added about a 1/2 cup of raspberry liquor (Arrow raspberry schnappes) and about 1/4 cup sugar to that and covered it with tulle, you can use cheesecloth, I just didn't have any..the sugar will make it ferment some though so you have to have it breathing...then just sit it in a dark place for about a month, strain out the blueberries (as Wegotchickens suggested..make yourself an ATOMIC smoothie with them, loL!!!! go Lori!!) bottle, cap and use for gifts. Would be good as a blueberry martini or over ice with a splash more of the raspberry liquor or just over ice with lemon and lime!!! Good luck!!
I made little heat wraps for Christmas gifts similar to what you all are talking about for people when I was in college. I also sewed two seams lengthwise, splitting the bag into 3 sections - this helped the rice not all end up at one side or the other of the bag. I don't have any of them left to show you a picture of the ones I made, though.
Ok, I'm finally getting around to posting the picture of the table runner I made for my aunt for Christmas this year.
Ok so i am not very crafty but i am going to make my niece and nephew blankets. The ones that you get two pieces of fabric, cut the sides and then tie them together. My 8 and 5 year old are going to help me.
Yeah I sew through the middle of my rice bags, or partway across so it will hold the rice and not end up with a half empty bag. I made one for myself the other day and made a U shape in the middle to keep the rice from all dumping to one side.
My daughters one is a long skinny one - with a row of sewing down the middle.
My son's is a big square - and his has a smaller square sewn in the middle.
Jolyn, those blankets are easy, fun and really warm. My DD and I made one for her a few years back and she just loves it. I made a couple for our camper. Totally cuddly.
These are some that I made for Mother's Day. The mitt shaped one was for my Mom's hands. I mad covers out of pretty material for the presents. I thought they would like that better. Mine I used gray fleece.
Awesome...I might could sew striaght lines!! Better yet, I could get my daughter to sew them, she has a sewing machine from a textiles class she took in high school. Nice job Monica
