Nice to know I am among compulsive crafting friends here, lol!!! What's one more project when you have 15 in the works already?!!!
I originally thought just stuffing but the sand might be a good idea, not sure about the oyster shell Zoo. I do feed that to my chickens but to me, it smells really fishy!! Might be why they love it, lol!! Don't know if a fishy chicken would go over real well though and the sand may seep out of felt too as the holes wont close up as well as cotton, hmmm, maybe rice? I dunno..might have to experiment! I know that I am gonna work on my Christmas stuff all year this year and put it in plastic totes in the garage when I'm done so I have less to do at one time. Can't wait for spring so I can can some jams!!! Right now I need to cut back my concord grape vine and I'll make some wreaths with that, maybe try to twist it into more like a basket, pretty flexible when it's green.
Thanks for the link to Chel's instructions MP, never even thought to look there but went back ALL through this thread!!
Anyway, yes, we all have ALOT of projects, lol!! There are so many seamstresses on this forum Zoo, really surprised there aen't more in Wild's block swap..like where is the Parson's Wife and Sterling Acres and Kitty? They all sew...and many more.....beat the drum louder I guess!!
