Sorry I threw away that one with the chicken that had the dreadlocks on the cover, you could have really used that one!!! Are yo using cigar boxes or the paper school boxes about the same shape? Great idea..one year in girl scouts we used the cigar boxes and hot glued seashells and beads all over the top and lined the insides with felt. There were used as jewelry boxes, my daughter took hers off to her college apartment with her..still a keepsake after all these years! You can buy beveled edged mirrors at michaels, or even the dollar tree has some and glue that on the inside lid if you are making the jewelry boxes..very nice.
The spider directions are pretty easy ya'll, you cn make them without a kit, big bead and smaller bead for the body with little ones at the front and back for head and tail end points and to be able to tie off the beads and keep them from slipping off. The legs are those cylinder or tube beads shoved in the wire and twisted between the head and body bead of the spider. Marymaxim does still carry A kit, not THE kits I used, the beads look cheaper to me now but if you have a box of beads, like all folks that crochet, people that work with beads ALWAYS have a stash of those too!!..use what you have, paste the poem on cardstock, rub it a bit with some a paper towel soaked in the juice of a tea bag for an old look, tie it to your spider and put it in a box for christmas..nice gift! If my pictures were clearer, youcould see the wolfpaw on the top of the white bead and under the bottom I wrote NCSU Wolfpack..you could do the college thmes if you want...I had to use a fine pointed permanent sharpie for that as the bead is about 3/4" diameter, probably Guitarists (Angie) is talented enough to paint in a space that small...I wasn't, lol!!!
Haven't used my new soap molds yet, probably wait till closer to Christmas for that, although I think I will make some logs/loaves of soap and wrap them in saran wrap and just not cut them till Christmas. I'll have that out of the way anyhow. Right now I'm on my 6th crocheted washcloth..have a bunch of those to get done!!
