Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Pics
When you guys post pics of the CLxEE chicks, can you please post pics of the EE moms too? I have several EEs of different coloring and this is a cross I want to eventually try (if the dang EEs will EVER start laying!!!). Sorry, they're 25 weeks and I'm getting impatient for those colored eggs...

I have (I think) two Easter Leggers, one cockerel and one pullet. Both have puffy cheeks, and unless the dad is a Silkie (all signs point to No), their dad is my CL roo James.

My Easter Egger hens: one white

And two brown -- this picture is from when they were pullets themselves, but you should get an idea of their color.

Here's the CL x EE cockerel:

And here is the CL x EE pullet, who looks like a fluffy Cream Legbar with puffy cheeks.

Several of my EEs look like your brown-ish ones. I LOVE the look of your CL x EE crosses! That coloring is super cool!!!

Your pictures of the CCLxEE cockerel here are absolutely stunning!!! I have a CCLxEE projected cockerel growing out now. Although his mother was a black EE, as noted below

it will be fascinating to see how he grows and colors.

This guy is really awesome. he looks like a chocolate color. Some crosses get shoulder patches way late like right at maturity maybe he will get some nice red shoulder patches like a golden sex link

I love this page i put the llink here ( Sex-Links )for everyone im sure some of you have seen it. . I always forget what to call my RIR roo over my RIW hen so i have to look here

is that the cockerel or the mother_?

This was the mother.

I now have four more eggs due to hatch in a week and half from this hen and this father below. See following picture.

I will also have some more CCLxRIR and now some CCLxBO to hatch, as well. These experiments resulted from a convenience for me, keeping the sexually mature cockerel off the immature CCL pullets. But now that I have hatched a few of these crosses, I am fascinated by the matches and potential opportunities for improvements.

Well thats not a black pullet.. she looks like a over melanized eb(brown) pullet with the following genes, s+ for gold, Ml for Melanotic and Pg for Pattern gene, the chicks will hatch all chipmunk stripes, Females lacking headspot and Males having a heaspot but not as diluted as double barred males,

now the CCL mated to RIR will produce some all yellow/orange chicks and some wildtype chipmunk looking chicks, this due to wheaten being a weird gene and sometimes behaving dominant and other recessive to wildtype e+. same as with the BO... on the CCL X RIR cross expect Red Barred birds with a black tail(barred also) with the CCL x BO expect simmilar look but much lighter in color....

you can even take some of those wildtype looking barred males and mate them back to BO hens and create the Autosexing BO breed that lays blue eggs...Such a cool project
