Does anyone have any photos of mature BCM X CL sex link chickens? Preferably hens but I'd like to see the roosters too. I'm very interested to see what they look like mature. I have both breeds so I might try this cross.

You are exactly correct... and Legbar hens are barred, hence why it works...

Any black based, solid colored rooster over a barred hen will produce black chicks... pullets will be black and cockerels will have headspots indicating barring...

Thanks! That's what I thought and was just trying to be elementary... I just can't believe I'd have all pullets.

Sometimes it does happen... just as sometimes they all hatch out cockerels... 50/50 is an average on genders, plus it's also based on commercial hatchery sized hatch numbers...

Thanks! A little off CL topic but I know you're so knowledgable... We have one yellow chick with chipmunk stripes and eyeliner... My friend hatched her for me so I'm not certain which egg she was from- it's either the CL or our EE, with (I'm thinking) our Bielefelder roo. I was getting excited we had a pullet but just red on red stars the boys have striping but are yellow instead of gol (down).... Thoughts? Here "she" is with the broody...

Furthermore- what do you make of the blue chicks? The Black copper roo and the CL hen are both from Greenfire, so I'm fairly sure they're pure.

If that's the chick posted earlier with your broody, it's definitely from the EE and not the Legbar, its got muffs... not sex linked at all, sorry...

If the chicks are truly blue, then I think your rooster is a blue and not black... might be a very dark blue, maybe? Sometimes they're hard to tell apart... got pics of him?

Yes- she does have muffs!

So no color sex link, Even with the Biel roo? What do you make of the blue chicks- from the EE with BCM roo?
